She had never really worn makeup. She only wanted to look like herself.

Her World

Pratyasha did not arrive with a folder full of references or a precisely defined bridal look. She had barely worn makeup before. What she did know was how she wanted to feel: natural, elegant and balanced. Nothing that would hide her features or make her feel unlike herself. She wanted to remain comfortable through a long morning wedding — and to recognise the woman looking back at her in the mirror.

Her Vision

“I want a look that still feels like me — something natural, elegant and balanced. Not too much, not too little.”

She had already seen Romma’s work closely. Romma had created her sister’s bridal look the previous year, so Pratyasha came with something more valuable than a reference photograph: trust. Her red Banarasi silk saree and traditional gold jewellery became the starting point. The makeup needed to complement their richness without competing with them.

The Preparation

Before the wedding, Romma asked to see the outfit, jewellery, a recent photograph and any visual references Pratyasha had in mind. Hairstyle preferences and skin concerns were considered in advance, and the final essentials — outfit, jewellery and fresh flowers — were carefully planned. Because it was a morning wedding, the day began early. Pratyasha arrived at 7:30 a.m., giving the process enough time to remain calm and unhurried before she had to reach the venue.

The Result

The final look was luminous and bridal, but still unmistakably Pratyasha. The compliments continued throughout the day. People told her she looked like a Barbie doll. But the reaction that mattered most did not come from a guest or a photograph. It came from her father.

Her Words

“What touched me the most was seeing how happy my father was when he saw me as a bride. That moment will stay with me forever.”

“Thank you for every bit of effort, patience and love you put into making my bridal look so perfect. You made me feel like the best version of myself.”
